Our recent trip to Côte d'Ivoire was an exciting blend of business, culture, and discovery. As we continue to expand BƆTA, we’re committed to sourcing the finest African ingredients and partnering with brands that align with our values of sustainability and heritage.
Meeting with Calebasse Création
We kicked off our trip with a meeting at Calebasse Création, a stunning boutique filled with African-made goods, from handcrafted gold jewelry to artisanal homeware and fashion. We explored the possibility them becoming a stockist, discussing how BƆTA's products could complement their curated selection of African craftsmanship. Walking through their space, we were inspired by the rich creativity and talent on display - each piece telling a story of tradition and artistry.
The Search for Cocoa Butter
A key goal of our trip was to source raw, unrefined cocoa butter—an essential ingredient in our body candles and skincare products. However, despite our plans of testing several samples and meeting with potential suppliers, we were unable to find a source that met our quality standards. The challenge of accessing pure, high-quality cocoa butter is something we’re determined to overcome, and we already have plans to return to Côte d'Ivoire to continue our search. Finding the right supplier is crucial for maintaining the integrity of our products, and we remain committed to working with African producers to bring the best ingredients to our customers.
Capturing the Essence of BƆTA
While in Côte d'Ivoire, we took the opportunity to shoot some incredible content for our latest candle and bag collections, which have now been released on our website. The vibrant landscapes and rich textures of the country provided the perfect backdrop, truly bringing our brand’s vision to life.
Looking Ahead
This trip was just the beginning. With new partnerships on the horizon and an ongoing mission to source the best raw materials, we’re excited about what’s next for BƆTA in Côte d'Ivoire. Stay tuned as we continue to explore, connect, and bring the beauty of Africa to the world.
